Situated in Tengah and District 24, Plantation Close EC is a new launch EC introduced in the first half of 2023 by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). This GLS site marks the second executive condominium unveiled in the up-and-coming Tengah estate, following the remarkable sell-out success of Copen Grand EC in 2022. The project has a maximum gross floor area (GFA) of 46,036 sqm, and is set to yield an estimated 495 units in total.

Marketed as Singapore’s first ‘Forest Town’, Tengah will be progressively developed into a green and sustainable town with a focus on smart living. Residents can expect to live next to lush greenery and nature whilst being close to a variety of amenities such as schools, a sports hub and medical centres. The town will feature energy-efficient buildings and eco-friendly initiatives as part of Singapore’s sustainability efforts. Furthermore, it is poised to become the first estate to adopt smart technologies town-wide. It plans to introduce initiatives like smart lighting in common areas, regenerative lifts and eco-pedestals in flats.

Accessibility and Connectivity near Plantation Close EC
The Plantation Close EC GLS site is located next to Tengah Park MRT on the upcoming Jurong Region Line (JRL). Slated to open in stages from 2027 to 2029, the JRL will solely serve the west of Singapore, connecting residents to key employment hubs such as Jurong Innovation District (JID), Jurong Lake District (JLD) and Tuas Port.

Those who drive will be glad to know that the site will be directly linked to the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) come 2027, taking them to various parts of Singapore. Drivers can also use the Kranji Expressway (KJE) to head to Jurong, Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang. The unique thing about Tengah is that it will feature a car-free town centre, in line with Singapore’s vision of a car-lite society. As such, the town centre will have roads and vehicles operating underneath it, allowing people to walk and cycle on the ground level. A pedestrian and cycling network will also be set aside on roads, which aims to encourage people to walk and cycle.

Schools near Plantation Close EC
The most anticipated school in the precinct is definitely Anglo-Chinese School (Primary), which is slated for relocation to Tengah from Barker Road in 2030. It will be located within 2km of Plantation Close EC. Its move has sparked interest among future residents and parents of young children, mainly because of the Primary 1 registration exercise.
In addition, Pioneer Primary will relocate to Tengah in 2026, and a new primary school will open in 2028 to meet the needs of the growing estate. Both will be within 1km of Plantation Close EC.
As a result of a revision of the Ministry of Education's home-school distance programme, the distance between schools and houses will be measured during Primary 1 registration exercises by calculating the shortest distance between a point around the school and the applicants' homes. This change will alleviate parents' concerns about the distance between their residences and adjacent schools.
