The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) establishes the rules for LCs through its Uniform Documentary Letter of Credit Practice, which is adopted globally by producers and traders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When parties engage in transactions, they use an intermediary, such as a bank or financial institution, to issue the LC and guarantee that payment will be made for the goods or services received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why is a Letter of Credit important?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Trust plays a significant role in the relationship between buyer and seller. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you are the buyer, seller, or end user, it&#8217;s crucial to understand each party&#8217;s intentions in overseas transactions and ensure they fulfil their obligations.
