This initiative promotes multi-generational living arrangements and helps families secure stable housing solutions while fostering stronger family ties.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Half-Housing Grant vs Family Grant &#8211; What is the difference?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both grants cater to first-time applicants purchasing resale flats. The Family Grant is designed for married or engaged couples with at least one Singapore Citizen (SC) and another SC or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if your spouse or spouse-to-be has previously obtained a housing subsidy, you can still benefit from the Half-Housing Grant. However, this grant is specifically for SC\/SC applicants in such situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, the Half-Housing Grant&#8217;s value is half of what you and your spouse would receive if both of you were first-time applicants eligible for the Family Grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Am I eligible for a Half-Housing Grant?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for the Half-Housing Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Age: Applicants must be 21 years old or above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flat type: The flat being purchased must be a 2-room or bigger unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flat&#8217;s remaining lease: The remaining lease on the flat must be 20 years or more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Income ceiling for couple applicants: The combined monthly income of the couple applying for the grant must not exceed S$14,000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Income ceiling for purchasing with extended family: The total monthly income should not exceed S$21,000 if the purchase involves extended family members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous housing subsidy: For eligibility, either the applicant or their spouse\/spouse-to-be must have previously received any CPF Housing Grant for the purchase of an HDB resale flat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant amounts for the Half-Housing Grant are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For 2- to 4-room resale flat:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SC\/SC Household: S$25,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SC\/SPR Household: Not applicable&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For 5-room or bigger resale flat:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SC\/SC Household: S$20,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SC\/SPR Household: Not applicable&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The information provided was accurate at the time of publication.
