New BTO Launch Offers Flats in Kallang and Whampoa

Looking for a new home near the city? Look to HDB’s newly launched BTO flats in Kallang and Whampoa!

An opportune moment has arrived for homebuyers to ballot for flats within the Kallang and Whampoa district. There will be a BTO launch on 22nd May. The closing date will be 28th May.

583 units will be offered for sale, along with balloting time for BTO flats reduced from a period of six to three weeks.

In addition, upcoming BTO sites will be announced six months in advance instead of the usual three months.

Kallang Whampoa estates — A high demand for flats in the central area in February suggests we can expect the same with the BTO offerings in this mature HDB town.

New project launch: Kempas Residences

Kempas Residences is located right beside Boon Keng MRT station. Prices range from $117,000 for a two-room flexi flat to $562,000 for a four-room flat. Prices are 60 to 70 percent higher than other BTO flats in non-mature estates.

Housing grants of up to $80,000 are available. These comprise mainly of the Additional CPF Housing Grant (AHG) and the Special CPF Housing Grant. Families living in public rental flats who wish to purchase two-room flexis or three-room flats in non-mature estates are able to receive a $15,000 grant. Therefore, do not forget to check if you are an eligible candidate.

Two-room flexi flat from $117,000

Three-room flat from $1387,000

Four-room flat from $562,000

Expected BTO prices for Woodlands ( Champions Green) and Tengah (Plantation Acres, Garden Vale @ Tengah):

Two-room flexi flat from $86,000

Three-room flat from $165,000

Four-room flat from $244,000

Five-room flat from $366,000

A high demand for flats in the central area in February suggests we can expect the same with the BTO offerings in this mature HDB town. These BTO offerings comprise of smaller unit sizes including two-room flexi, three-room and four-room flats. As of Wednesday evening, there were a total of 763 applications for the 583 HDB flats; four-bedroom units were the most popular, with 626 families applying for 318 four-bedders.

The next sales exercise is to take place in August 2019. It is estimated that 3,300 BTO flats in Punggol and Tampines will be up for sale. A further 4,500 flats in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines and Tengah will be offered in November.
