Now, you can book your flat as soon as the day after applying. Here&#8217;s what you should know:<\/p>\n<h3>The Expanded Re-offer of Balance Flats (ROF) scheme<\/h3>\n<p>The Sale of Balance Flats (SBF), and subsequent ROF schemes, are meant to sell off BTO flats that remain unsold from launches. Previously, this only took place twice a year.<\/p>\n<p>Now however, buyers can view the listings for these flats online, and submit an application for them any time (check out the HDB website for details). If the application is succesful, they can select a unit the next working day.<\/p>\n<p>This helps to speed up the process on both ends: HDB gets to sell off its remaining flats quicker, and home buyers speed up their moving-in process.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26922\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26922\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-26922\" src=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/You-can-Now-Book-an-HDB-Flat-the-Day-After-Applying-Units.jpg\" alt=\"Many flat units to choose from.\" width=\"650\" height=\"434\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26922\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Choose your preferred unit after applying.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>What&#8217;s up on offer right now?<\/h3>\n<p>At present, there are 123 flats up on offer, of which 105 are in mature areas (Ang Mo Kio, Bukut Merah, Toa Payoh). We understand that, based on ethnic quotas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chinese are eligible for 26 of the units<\/li>\n<li>Malays are eligible for 115 of the units<\/li>\n<li>Indians and other races are eligible for 119 of the units<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The breakdown in size is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>57 three-room flats<\/li>\n<li>23 four-room flats<\/li>\n<li>20 five-room flats<\/li>\n<li>17 3-Gen flats<\/li>\n<li>3 Executive flats<\/li>\n<li>2 Flexi-flats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26923\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26923\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-26923\" src=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/You-can-Now-Book-an-HDB-Flat-the-Day-After-Applying-Different-Ethnicity.jpg\" alt=\"Residents of different ethnicities gathering at the void deck.\" width=\"650\" height=\"433\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26923\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">There is different quota for different ethnicities.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Move fast, because BTO flats now sell faster than they used to<\/h3>\n<p>Largely thanks to the new schemes, BTO flats tend to sell faster &#8211; if they&#8217;re not snapped up at launch, people are now viewing the listings at any time, not just during sale of balance flat exercises.
