Towards the run-up to the Feb 2022 HDB BTO launch<\/a>, we weren\u2019t just anticipating the site plans, prices and names (will it contain \u201cParc\u201d or \u201cResidences\u201d?) <\/i>of the BTO projects. We were also looking forward to the locations of the next BTO launch in May 2022.<\/p>\n

And now that HDB has launched the May 2022 BTO sales exercise, here’s a summary of what stood out for us.<\/p>\n

For starters, there will be 4,583 units across five projects in five towns, which means you\u2019ll have more units and choices to ballot for, compared to the Feb launch.<\/p>\n

(Previously, it was announced that 5,330 units would be launched across six projects. However, National Development Minister Desmond Lee recently announced<\/a> that one of the Bukit Merah BTO projects would be shifted to the next launch in August.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\n\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t

Bukit Merah May 2022 BTO (Bukit Merah Ridge)<\/b><\/h2>\n

Location:\u00a0<\/b>Along Henderson Road, Tiong Bahru Road and Lower Delta Road<\/p>\n

First on this list is the Bukit Merah BTO<\/a> project, which we expect will be the most hotly contested out of the May 2022 HDB BTO projects. In case you haven\u2019t been keeping track, the last launch<\/a> in Bukit Merah<\/a> was last May, which drew in an overall application rate<\/a> of a whopping 49.6 for 4-room flats!<\/p>\n

Located along Henderson Road, this Bukit Merah BTO is around an eight-minute walk to Tiong Bahru MRT<\/a>. With 1,669 units up for grabs, it’s also the biggest project in the May 2022 BTO launch.<\/p>\n

While it’s not located near the Greater Southern Waterfront<\/a>, it’s in a pretty prime area and is very close to the MRT station. It\u2019s just two to four stops to Tanjong Pagar MRT<\/a> and Raffles Place MRT<\/a> for those taking public transport, or within a 15-minute drive to the CBD. If you missed out on the River Peaks BTO<\/a> and the King George\u2019s Heights BTO<\/a>, here\u2019s another chance to live close to the city centre.<\/p>\n

And as expected, this is one of the two Prime Location Public Housing (PLH)<\/a> projects in this launch. PLH projects come with some restrictions, including a 10-year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

(Another project in Bukit Merah, located next to Redhill MRT<\/a>, was initially included in this May launch. However, it’s since been announced<\/a> that it would be postponed to the August 2022 BTO launch.)<\/p>\n
