Named after Queen Elizabeth II in honour of her coronation in 1952, Queenstown<\/a> was Singapore\u2019s first-ever satellite town built back when Singapore was still a British colony. It\u2019s now home to over 82,500 HDB residents.<\/span><\/p>\n

It borders Bukit Timah to the north, Tanglin to the northeast, Bukit Merah to the east and southeast, and Clementi to the northeast and west.<\/span><\/p>\n

Forfar House<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Once Singapore\u2019s tallest HDB block, Forfar House was an iconic 14-storey block of zigzag units surrounded by low-rise Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) flats that were colloquially referred to as\u00a0<\/span>si lau chu<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(four-storey house) or\u00a0<\/span>lam po lay<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(blue glass).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was picked for the\u00a0<\/span>Selective En-bloc Redevelopment Scheme<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(SERS) in 1995 and demolished to make way for the new 40-storey towers of Forfar Heights.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dawson estate<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Developed in the 1960s and 1970s, Dawson presented the potential for regeneration, which is exactly what HDB did.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under HDB\u2019s pioneer batch of the\u00a0<\/span>Remaking Our Heartland<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(ROH) programme to rejuvenate and further develop the Dawson estate, two housing projects\u00a0<\/span>SkyVille @ Dawson<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>SkyTerrace @ Dawson<\/span><\/a>\u00a0were completed in 2015 in tune with a \u201chousing in a park\u201d concept.<\/span><\/p>\n

Award-winning local architectural firms designed the two projects that installed sky gardens and rooftop gardens to inject greenery and vibrancy into the neighbourhood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They also took great care to preserve Dawson\u2019s heritage by using the iconic blue glass panels from the former iconic Forfar House on Strathmore Avenue.<\/span><\/p>\n

Residents can enjoy living in a scenic park-like environment without travelling too far to access green spaces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These flats were undoubtedly popular, with 33 5-room units commanding million dollar price tags soon after their MOP in both projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, SkyVille @ Dawson and SkyTerrace @ Dawson\u2019s average price psf were approximately 35.4% higher than that of Queenstown HDB flats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
