floor area) are rounded off to 3 significant figures.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>All 10 units were held for at least 15 years<\/h2>\n<p>For these home owners, playing the long waiting game has paid off. After a holding period of at least 15 years, they have managed to get a profit that&#8217;s at least twice the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, among these 10 units, two units had the shortest holding period of 17 years. On top of that, property prices then weren\u2019t as high as they are now. By selling off the properties during a peak, these home owners were able to maximise their capital gains.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the remaining two units were bought in 1998 and 2003, when prices were at their lowest.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"nopopup\" href=\"https:\/\/go.99.co\/99gformblog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"img-link media-img img-link media-img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-62770 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/seller-lead-cta-banner-e1672816945355.jpg\" alt=\"Seller 99.co in-house CTA banner\" width=\"1200\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/seller-lead-cta-banner-e1672816945355.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/seller-lead-cta-banner-e1672816945355-150x28.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>90% of the units were at least 1,000 sqft<\/h2>\n<p>Another trend we observed among these 10 profit-making units was that all but one had a floor area of at least 1,000 sqft.<\/p>\n<p>These nine units had a floor area ranging from 1,012 sqft to 1,765 sqft, signalling higher demand for bigger space.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_65544\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-65544\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/the-marbella.jpg\" class=\"img-link media-img img-link media-img\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-65544\" src=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/the-marbella.jpg\" alt=\"the marbella\" width=\"1200\" height=\"801\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/the-marbella.jpg 1324w, https:\/\/www.99.co\/singapore\/insider\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/the-marbella-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-65544\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Marbella unit made the highest capital gain of S$2.47m in April 2023.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At the same time, these units don\u2019t go beyond 2,000 sqft. In fact, looking at last month\u2019s transactions, out of the 28 profit-making units with a floor area of at least 2,000 sqft, only four made a gain of at least 100%. The remaining units made a capital gain ranging from 7.1% to 91.1%.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on these transactions, it seems like properties ranging from 1,000 sqft to 1,800 periods.
