A total of 533 responses came from those who were based in\u00a0Singapore, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesstimes.com.sg\/government-economy\/singapore-top-venue-for-expats-seeking-better-life-career-and-pay-survey\">The Business Times<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>On the whole, 62 percent of Singapore respondents felt that the island nation was a\u00a0good place to advance in their careers.\u00a0The same proportion shared that they had a higher income after relocating to\u00a0Singapore. Expats in Singapore drew an average annual paycheck of $190,000, the\u00a0survey found.<\/p>\n<p>The average annual income drawn globally is $133,000.\u00a0Close to 25 percent of Singapore-based expats drew an annual salary of over\u00a0$273,000. Across the globe, only 11 percent of expats were paid that sum or more.\u00a0With a larger paycheck, 52 percent of expats in Singapore felt they were in a better\u00a0position to acquire property. This is compared to the global figure of 41 percent.<\/p>\n<p>A slightly higher proportion \u2013 56 percent \u2013 shared that they were able to save more\u00a0for retirement here, as compared to if they were back home.\u00a0Perhaps they appreciated Singapore&#8217;s education system the most.
