Toa Payoh (NS19) is a town well served by commercial facilities including a food center, wet market, eating houses and shops. Previously visited by Queen Elizabeth II, Toa Payoh also hosted the South East Asian Peninsular (SEAP) Games in 1973. The Housing and Development Board Hub, is located right in the middle of town. Besides four commercial blocks and a center for leisure and learning, the hub also accommodates Singapore's first fully air-conditioned Toa Payoh Bus Interchange integrated with the existing Toa Payoh MRT Station. Another key landmark is the Royal Philips Electronics facility, which makes medical and electronics equipment.
The Singapore Table Tennis Association Academy, Toa Payoh Sports Hall and Swimming pool are among the many recreational options. Existing facilities will be further enhanced to provide residents with more attractive outdoor spaces to enjoy. A plethora of educational institutions are built within the zone, such as CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh), Catholic Junior College, St Joseph’s Institution International and Global Indian International School.
