A part of Singapore’s downtown core, numerous commercial buildings and cultural landmarks can be found in City Hall. The location was named after the City Hall building, which used to house the Municipal Council. Together with the former Supreme Court building next to it, both premises were focal points for many historical events in Singapore. Another famous building is the Parliament House of Singapore, lying along the riverbank. On the other end of the City Hall district, dining, shopping and entertainment options are offered at CHIJMES and Raffles City, connecting through the underground CityLink mall all the way to Marina Square. As an intersection between the North South line and East West line, it is incredible convenient getting around from this station. Companies such as VISA, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Citibank hold their offices in One Raffles Link, a building situating above the underground mall while more tenants are located in Raffles City Tower. Not to be missed is Saint Andrew’s Cathedral, Singapore’s largest and oldest.
