    It's not your typical condo, the whole curved design gives it character. But the corridors quite narrow and echo-y. Still, can’t complain much when you’ve got three MRT lines downstairs.

    Design is super unique — at first I don’t like, but now I see the curves and garden corridor, I think quite cool lah. Facilities okay only, but the rooftop view is next level.

    The condo is great, but street noise can be distracting for some units. Facilities are nice, but the large number of residents means crowds during weekends.

    The city views from my unit are breathtaking. The condo feels luxurious and peaceful despite being in a busy area. Shops and transport are right nearby.

One Pearl Bank, the highly anticipated development by CapitaLand, is slated for completion in 2023. It is designed by multi-award-winning Serie+Multiply, a joint venture between London-based Serie Architects and Singapore-based Architects. Also, it is set to be the world’s first vertical sky allotment gardens in a residential development. The two curved 39-storey towers will be connected at the roof by sky bridges. Furthermore, the development adopts a concept of high-rise living, standing at 178 metres tall. One Pearl Bank will be the tallest residential development within the Outram-Chinatown district, offering views that extend from the Central Business District to Sentosa. It will house 774 apartments ranging from studio apartments to penthouses.

Allotment Gardens

Contributing to Singapore’s “Garden City” dream, One Pearl Bank will have a series of sky allotment gardens arrayed vertically at one edge of each tower. With an allotment garden every four storeys and each garden housing 11 plots, it will have a total of 18 sky allotment gardens with approximately 200 plots where residents can grow their own herbs, fruits and vegetables. There will be around 500 trees and more than 135,000 shrubs, plants and flowers planted throughout One Pearl Bank. Besides supporting urban farming, these gardens offer spaces for community bonding. These gardens and vegetation will enhance One Pearl Bank’s biophilic design that combined nature to enrich residents’ quality of life. Towering high and visible from the city centre, the lush greenery will add to the aesthetics of surrounding areas. Furthermore, these allotment gardens are complemented by two sky terraces and two roof gardens across the two towers and a sunken planter in all balconies to expand the greenery on the development’s façade.

About the Architect of One Pearl Bank

Serie+Multiply

The one-of-a-kind architecture of One Pearl Bank is the product of a successful partnership between London-based Serie Architects and Singapore-based Multiply Architects - collectively known as Serie+Multiply. Together, they have envisioned two arc-shaped towers, crowned with an extended roof that is brightly lit in the evening, prominently positioned on Pearl’s Hill like beacons. The towers feature the world’s first series of ‘sky allotments’ in a high-rise residential tower, arrayed vertically every four storeys. The 18 sky allotment gardens host close to 200 plots, where residents can grow their own herbs and vegetables - a dedication to urban farming and communal life. Along with extensive landscaping and greenery across sky terraces and roof gardens, Serie+Multiply attempts to strike a pleasing balance between contemporary living in the city centre and the importance of green space amidst high-rise.

Most well-known for their spatial intelligence, formal elegance and contextual engagement, Serie Architects is an international practice specialising in architecture and urban design. Their reputation is, unsurprisingly, built on Serie’s aptitude for distinctive building design that enrich the public realm. This has translated into a slew of international accolades for Serie’s past projects like the NUS School of Design, Oasis Terraces in Singapore, and various others abroad. As for homegrown Multiply Architects, their practice began in 2007 with a core team of five.
