The location is really nice if you don't depend on MRT. It's near Tiong Bahru central and the decommissioning port ( some what, within visibility range). At block 127D you are promised with a sea view some day when the port is replaced with condos and commercial buildings. Building maintenance wise - it's a little disappointing. Town Council there needs to do a better job. There's some amenities within the estate - a restaurant, 7-11, and some convenient stores etc. You can walk a bit further for food courts and supermarkets. There's a shared garden at 3rd floor (or 2nd?) linking the blocks (except 127D) together. Overall, it's nice but you need to consider the small compromises if you stay there. Don't be surprised though - it's one of the growing number of sites producing million-dollar HDB units.

It's an okay HDB Estate. It's a little old, which also means if you bought them 2nd or 3rd hand, you likely need to do some massive renovation works. Houses are quite spacious, and very squarish (vs new houses that HDB builds these days). Pick up and drop off is simple and sheltered. A short walk away from MRT though.

In the big brand 126 Bak Kut Teh, there are rows of chairs at Kim Tian Green every morning. Many elderly people sit and chat, laugh and watch people coming and going.
