Singapore Rental FAQs

Rental deposits in Singapore are typically paid when signing the lease agreement. For HDB flats, tenants usually pay one months rent as a security deposit plus the first months rent upon key collection. For private properties, the deposit is generally one to two months rent, depending on the lease term and property condition.

Utilities such as water, electricity, and gas are generally not included in the rent for both private properties and HDB flats. Tenants are responsible for setting up utility accounts and paying the bills separately, allowing them to manage their own usage and costs.
