3 min read

Located at 3 Jalan Kemaman in the Balestier neighbourhood, Verticus is a freehold development scheduled for completion in 2024. The development is helmed by Soilbuild Group and consists of 162 units in a single 28-storey block.

Facilities

Verticus, a single-tower residential development, is packed with a suite of facilities. This includes a tennis court, lap pool, leisure pool, aqua gym, playground, junior rock wall, grill and dine pavilion, as well as several alcoves for entertaining and quiet contemplation – all of which make up the collection of facilities atop the development’s fifth storey podium.

Higher up on the 14th floor, residences can find the sky gym and a gourmet area dedicated to cooking for and entertaining a small group of guests. There are also several lounge areas on this level, which offers various vantage points over the eclectic Balestier neighbourhood.

Surrounding Amenities

Nestled within the URA planning area of Novena, Verticus is within close proximity to the up-and-coming Health City Novena, a 17-hectare large-scale modern integrated healthcare complex connecting Tan Tock Seng Hospital, a medical school and several healthcare facilities.

Together, the developments at Health City Novena provides a complete ecosystem for health services, research and education, while also providing ample commercial and leisure amenities as well as public spaces. For shopping, Novena Square, Velocity, Square 2 and United Square form a cluster of malls that are a favourite destination for Balestier’s residents.

Its proximity to Novena aside, the Balestier area provides residents with a tapestry of lifestyle and dining experiences that showcase a unique side of Singapore’s heritage beyond the usual cultural precincts.

The neighbourhood’s numerous shophouses are home to established local eateries that first made their name in Balestier, such as Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice, as well as cafes and restaurants. The nearby Balestier Market and Whampoa Market also offer a selection of hawker fare.

Durian lovers will particularly relish living in the area, as Balestier is known for its durian stalls that attract patronage from people all over Singapore. The same thing goes for bak kut teh lovers, as multiple vendors here boast of having the best versions of the pork rib dish.

For daily needs, Verticus is a short two- to five-minutes’ walk to Shaw Plaza and Zhongshan Mall, which offer a large array of shops and dining spots, as well as a well-stocked gourmet supermarket.

Slightly further afield is the Toa Payoh Town Park and Toa Payoh Sports Complex and Stadium and SAFRA Toa Payoh clubhouse which, together with the bustling Toa Payoh Central, is accessible via a bike-friendly footbridge across the Kallang River and Pan Island Expressway (PIE).

When it comes to education, there are a number of private institutions in the area, such as the East Asia Institute of Management and Curtin Singapore. For families with young children, Verticus is within one kilometre of Hong Wen School—a well-regarded Special Assistance Plan (SAP) primary school in Singapore.

Motorists who call Verticus home will also enjoy easy access to PIE, the Central Expressway (CTE) and most significantly the upcoming North South Corridor (NSC), a new expressway running under Thomson Road that will alleviate congestion heading into the city during peak hours.

Unit types

Units at Verticus range from one- to four-bedroom configurations. For three- and four-bedroom units, dual key or penthouse configurations are available.
