While there may be few to no options for co-living in Singapore, don’t be quick to dismiss the notion. Startups are driving a growing interest in the arrangement, according to a report in The Business Times.

One of them is Fintech startup XFERS, that has secured US$2.5 million in funding from investors including Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.
In addition to its office, XFERS has an apartment where employees gather to play games and have meals. At times, they spend the night to engage in discussions and brainstorm. E-commerce platform Shopback is another startup that is exploring co-living options.
Singapore is home to more than 5,400 tech startups, according to 2014 statistics. For the concept to work, members have to “contribute and compromise” to create an ideal environment, said Mr Darius Cheung, founder of 99.co.
What is co-living?
More than just shared living quarters, co-living is a modern form of urban housing inspired by millennial-generation values: openness, collaboration, social networking and the sharing economy.
