    A four-bedroom unit on the 24th floor of New Futura, a freehold development along Leonie Hill Road in District 9, had a sale warning submitted and was sold on May 3 for S$12.5 million. Under the new cooling measures, an additional buyer's stamp duty rate of 60% will apply to foreign buyers. However, the new tax rate will not apply for transactions where the purchase option is granted to the buyer on or before April 26 and exercised within 21 days (i.e. on or before May 17). Therefore, Chinese buyers who purchased units in New Futura paid a tax rate of 30%, which is S$3.75 million.
