Condo Focus: Wallich Residence

4 min read

Wallich Residence is at the forefront of luxury high-rise housing in Singapore, located in the Central Business District node of Tanjong Pagar and soaring to a height of 290 metres—the tallest skyscraper in Singapore.

Developed by GuocoLand and completed in 2017, the collection of 181 luxury units at Wallich Residence is located from the 39th to 64th floors of the building, which translates to an altitude of 180 metres onwards.

Below Wallich Residence sits the city’s finest Grade A office space and a retail and F&B podium within what is collectively known as Guoco Tower, a mega mixed-use development rising directly above Tanjong Pagar MRT that has become the icon and focal point of the city.

Facilities

Four levels of facilities at Wallich Residences seek to elevate the luxury lifestyle to new heights. The experience begins at the property’s grand lobby, where a concierge provides residents with five-star services such as grocery and luggage handling.

At Social 180, which is located 180 metres above sea level on level 39, the centrepiece is a stunning infinity lap pool looking out to the Straits of Singapore. Residents can relax and recharge amid a sanctuary of landscaped gardens, take a dip in the jacuzzi or dipping pool, and impress guests with sumptuous food at the BBQ grill and casual dining rooms.

Fitness buffs will also relish the large, fully-equipped gym that offers stunning city views while they work up a sweat.

At Cloud 220, 220 metres above sea level on level 52, residents can book the gourmet dining room to entertain guests with the sea and skyline as backdrop. On the other side of the sky garden is a Wifi-connected networking suite that residents can work out of, as well as a library and theatrette.

Last but not least, the Apex at level 62 is an observation deck exclusive to residents. The highlight of the Apex are the AirDecks—glass cantilevered balconies that provide a rare birds-eye view of the city below.

Surrounding Amenities

Within the mega mixed-use integrated development of Guoco Tower are over 100,000 square feet (sq ft) of retail and dining options across six storeys, Sofitel Singapore City Centre as well as a sprawling 150,000 square feet urban park with vast landscaped gardens where activities and events are held.

The development also has direct access to the underground Tanjong Pagar MRT station, which is connected to Guoco Tower’s retail podium. From Tanjong Pagar MRT, the rest of the CBD and Singapore is easily accessible.

Residents are also a three-minute walk from the upcoming Maxwell MRT station on the Thomson-East Coast (TEL) line, which will provide easy access to Orchard Road, Singapore Botanic Gardens and the East Coast area in a matter of minutes.

Being at the heart of the CBD also doesn’t mean all work and no play. Rather, Tanjong Pagar has grown in stature as a F&B and lifestyle destination. Food-wise, the variety of cuisine spans the gamut of delectable

local fare (Amoy Food Centre, Maxwell Food Centre and Tanjong Pagar Food Centre), to the trendy and the upscale.

In particular, the area is also known for its collection of heritage shophouses with highly popular cafes, gastropubs, authentic Japanese and Korean restaurants, as well as Michelin-starred establishments. The Neil Road and Duxton Hill area are the nearest clusters of activity. Amoy Street, Ann Siang/Club Street and Chinatown are also well-within walking distance.

Shopping and procuring groceries are also a convenient affair, with 100AM mall comprising two supermarkets, a food court and a collection of mostly Japanese F&B establishments.

When it comes to recreation, residents can take advantage of the green belt that extends from Guoco Tower and onward to Bukit Pasoh near Chinatown and Pearl’s Hill City Park. Marina Promenade and the scenic Gardens by the Bay are also close by. Schools-wise, Wallich Residence is also within one kilometre of Cantonment Primary School.

Motorists getting around Singapore will have no trouble accessing the nearby Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) and Central Expressway (CTE.)

Unit types

Units at Wallich Residence comprise one- to four-bedroom units, four penthouses and one exclusive super penthouse.
