What did you like about 99.co?
I thought that the mass SMS function was terrific. I sent out inquiries to several property agents at once without expecting much, but received responses from multiple agents within five minutes. It seems that they are quite active in fielding inquiries that come in through 99.co, and ensuring that the needs of enquirers are met. While it took me 100 viewings to find a place in China, this time it took me only 4 viewings to find a place in Singapore.
What is the most important factor for you when looking for a place to live?
The people – flatmates, neighbours, local residents. Finding a place to live isn’t just about searching for an optimal physical location. Assuming you’ll be residing somewhere for at least six to twelve months, you’ll also be interacting with the local community on a daily basis, and I’d like to live around people who are friendly and share common interests with me. Conversely, I wouldn’t live in an apartment unit with a crazy neighbour, no matter how luxurious that apartment may be.
Describe your dream home.
Previously, I lived in a Singaporean shophouse (which doubled as an office) for a year, and I’d love to do it again. It’s a uniquely Singaporean cultural experience, and while I might not do this in other countries, it is pretty safe to live in a shophouse in Singapore. Many of the new shophouses are also rather spacious and have really nice, modern interior design.
