Get all artsy fartsy at Gillman Barracks

Gillman Barracks is a military encampment turned art cluster, housing many art galleries and F&B options within its compounds. In particular, check out Fost Gallery, which features emerging local artists and sculptors. When you get hungry, hop on over to The Naked Finn, where you’ll get to sample some of the best grilled seafood our tiny little island has to offer.

Marvel at the architecture of Henderson Waves

Henderson Waves is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore, and it’s built to resemble the ebb and flow of a wave. If you’re up for it, go on the Southern Ridges Walk,  a 5 km hiking trail that will bring you through Kent Ridge Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Mount Faber Park (with Henderson Waves connecting the latter two).

Don’t want to break a sweat? Go in the evening to witness the sunset, as well as the LED light-up from 7pm to 2am.

If you want to go all out and impress on a first date, or to celebrate a special occasion with a special someone, you can’t go wrong with Prive at Keppel Bay. The waterfront cafe is well-loved for its relaxed atmosphere and great brunch food, so feast away as you luxuriate in your surroundings and watch the docked yachts gently bobbing in the breeze. You’ll also have a first-class view of Reflections At Keppel Bay – though whether this adds to the appeal of the place or not, we can’t say for sure!

Old Habits is the name of the place, and the minute you step in, you’ll be transported to another era with the many typewriters, gramophones, and other vintage memorabilia on display. Browse to your heart’s content, and when you get hungry, sit down for their best-selling Nonya Coconut Kueh, a homemade confection using a secret family recipe and served with ice cream.

Tick off ‘cable car dining’ from your bucket list

Sky dining doesn’t come cheap – but it sure is a once in a lifetime experience. If you want to tick this item off your bucket list, you can do so with Dining on Cloud 9. More specifically, we’re talking about a delectable four-course dinner whilst you’re suspended in a private cable car cabin. We hear this place is extremely popular for proposals!
