Designed to change the streetscape of Pasir Panjang Road, the Verandah Residences was inspired by the black-and-white colonial bungalows in the neighbouring cluster. Their distinct features are their large verandahs around the fronts and sides, broad overhanging sloping roofs, louvred windows and open windows, and open interior spaces that encourage natural air flow. These design elements have been adapted by The Verandah Residences and given a modern twist by the project’s architect DP Architects. With eaves and ledges, window walls, louvred screens and iconic Juliet balconies, The Verandah Residences are classically reminiscent of those black-and-white bungalows. It is no wonder that the condominium project earned the title of Best New Private Condo Architectural Design 2019 at the Asia Property Awards.
