As we wrap up the first month of 2018, let’s take a look at some of the most expensive and best-selling properties that got Singaporeans (and expats living in Singapore!) extremely excited last year. Plus: we already know that property prices are expected to rise by 10% in 2018, so if you’re hoping to buy or sell property this year, you’re in for a fun ride! (cover image credits)
Most expensive resale properties in 2017:
In August 2017, a 10,300 square foot penthouse at Sculptura Ardmore was sold for over $60 million. Rumour has it that the buyer is none other than one of 99.co’s investors Eduardo Saverin, but as the deal has been kept fairly hush-hush, no one knows for sure.
In May 2017, a 9,300 square foot resale unit at The Nassim was sold for $25.57 million. Again, we don’t know much about the mysterious buyer – except for the fact that he (or she!) is a foreigner.
Rounding it off, in August 2017, a 7,287 square foot unit at Gramercy Park was sold for $21.86 million. The unit in question is a five bedroom penthouse.

Highest asking price for property in 2017:
S$100 million. Nope, that’s not a typo – it’s the asking price for a new three-storey penthouse, which comes complete with a private pool on the 64th floor. This unit is located at Wallich Residence in the GuocoLand-developed Tanjong Pagar Centre, and experts are saying that it’s a “test for the endurance of demand for luxury property” in Singapore.
Highest number of units sold by a developer in 2017:
1,216 units. The honour goes to Qingjian Realty, with the units comprising of both Executive Condominium (EC) and private residential projects.
Highest number of ECs sold by a developer in 2017:
932 units. Again, this feat was achieved by Qingjian Realty. One of their most popular ECs was The Visionaire, Singapore’s first EC with smart homes, which was fully sold in 2017. In addition, we hear that Qingjian Realty’s iNz Residence, which is Singapore’s first Internet-ready smart EC, is also doing exceptionally well.
