Otto Place: The latest EC in Tengah New Town

Hoi Hup Realty and Sunway Development secured the Otto Place site at Plantation Close through a joint venture, clinching the bid with a notable offer of S$423.38 million – equivalent to S$701 psf ppr, on Feb 14, 2024.

Their successful bid follows their acquisition in September 2023 of the adjacent Parcel A (now Novo Place), spanning 176,973 square feet, for S$348.5 million, equivalent to S$703 psf ppr. Both sites are close to a range of amenities, including malls like JEM, Westgate, and IMM and educational institutions like ACS (Primary) and Princess Elizabeth Primary School.

Marketed as Singapore’s first ‘Forest Town’, Tengah will be progressively developed into a green and sustainable town with a focus on smart living. Schools near Otto Place EC

The most anticipated school in the precinct is definitely Anglo-Chinese School (Primary), which is slated for relocation to Tengah from Barker Road in 2031. It will be located within 2km of Otto Place EC. Its move has sparked interest among future residents and parents of young children, mainly because of the Primary 1 registration exercise. 

In addition, Pioneer Primary will relocate to Tengah in 2026, and a new primary school will open in 2028 to meet the needs of the growing estate. Both will be within 1km of Plantation Close EC.

As a result of a revision of the Ministry of Education's home-school distance programme, the distance between schools and houses will be measured during Primary 1 registration exercises by calculating the shortest distance between a point around the school and the applicants' homes. This change will alleviate parents' concerns about the distance between their residences and adjacent schools.
