Originally located at Yishun Street, Yishun Public Library has been relocated to Northpoint City Shopping Centre and underwent a major renovation to serve the community better.
It now covers an area of 2,530 square meters, housing a collection of about 121,000 books, around 300 magazine titles, and 3,000 audio-visual items for all age groups in the four official languages.
The interiors of Yishun Public Library are inspired by the neighbourhood's evolution from natural plantation heritage to a bustling estate. The main pathway is mirrored with a ceiling light panel that guides you into the different sections of the library.
The entrance lobby is designed to be an uncluttered space with a prominent atrium design that welcomes people into the Virtual Library, a first-of-its-kind. A fishing jetty maintained by PUB extends from the park into the reservoir.
