5 Condos that are Perfect for Shopping Addicts

4 min read

If you love indulging in retail therapy, and your favourite thing to do on the weekends is to hit the shops, then we’ve got just the thing for you. In this article, we’ve curated a selection of 5 condos that are perfect for shopaholics… read on to find out more!

#1: Paterson Residence

District: D09

Nearest MRT: Orchard

Units: 110

Average PSF rent price: $4.2

Average PSF sale price: $2,173.7

Singapore’s most famous shopping district is none other than Orchard Road, and if you’re a shopaholic, it’s only befitting that you stay in this neighbourhood. This way, you’ll be a stone’s throw away from ION, Wisma, Ngee Ann City, Paragon, and all the other malls that line the Orchard shopping belt.

As a general rule of thumb, the nearer a condominium is located to an MRT station (either Orchard or Somerset), the more expensive it’ll be. We find that Paterson Residence offers the best of both worlds – it’s close enough to Orchard that you can walk to the train station (7 minutes away on foot!), but it’s not so close that its PSF sales and rent prices are through the roof.

#2: Duo Residences

District: D07

Nearest MRT: Bugis

Units: 666

Average PSF rent price: $5.6

Average PSF sale price: $2,914.3

Bugis (where Duo Residences is located!) is another neighbourhood that offers up plenty of choices when it comes to shopping. There’s something for everyone here – if you favour malls, you can head to Bugis Junction or Bugis+, if you’re partial to indie boutiques, there’s Haji Lane, and if you pride yourself on getting the best bargains, you’ll feel right at home at Bugis Street.

If you commute via public transport, it’s also easy to get from Bugis to the CBD or other areas of Singapore. From Bugis MRT, you can hop on the East West line, which will bring you to Raffles Place and City Hall, or the Downtown line, which connects to Promenade, Bayfront and Telok Ayer.

#3: Marina One Residences

District: D01

Nearest MRT: Marina Bay, Downtown

Units: 517

Average PSF rent price: $4.7

Average PSF sale price: $2,518.6

Marina One Residences is a luxury condominium located in the heart of Singapore’s CBD; staying here gives you easy access to the multitude of malls and shopping areas in the vicinity.

Near malls include The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, which houses a huge range of international luxury brands, Suntec City, one of Singapore’s largest lifestyle malls, Marina Square, which houses over 200 specialty shops, and Esplanade Mall, where you can find smaller niche boutiques. Don’t spend all your money in one place!

#4: Regency Suites

District: D03

Nearest MRT: Tiong Bahru

Units: 104

Average PSF rent price: $4.2

Average PSF sale price: $1,652.2

Regency Suites is located at the heart of Tiong Bahru, an intriguing neighbourhood where old meets new. There are plenty of shops and amenities at Tiong Bahru Plaza, which is located just nearby, but if you’d like to skip the shopping centre for a change, Tiong Bahru has plenty of indie stores and stylish boutiques that are just waiting to be discovered.

Another plus point: if you want to head to Orchard Road for more shopping, you can get there in just 10 to 15 minutes via car or bus.

#5: Mackenzie 88

District: D09

Nearest MRT: Little India

Units: 55

Average PSF rent price: $4.1

Average PSF sale price: $1,584.6

If you’re more of a bargain hunter than a luxury brand addict, then consider staying at Mackenzie 88, which is strategically located in Little India. Here, you’ll have access to City Square Mall (Singapore’s first eco-mall that’s integrated with a 49,000 square foot urban park), and you’ll also be within walking distance of Mustafa, a 24-hour shopping mall that sells pretty much anything and everything.
