HDB Season Parking: Everything you need to know
HDB season parking is a long-term parking solution for motorists, allowing them to park their vehicles at HDB car parks for a flat monthly rate. This service is ideal for residents or employees working in HDB precincts, providing convenience and flexibility. Here’s a comprehensive guide to how HDB season parking works, the application process, and the renewal options.
What is HDB season parking?
HDB season parking allows motorists to park their vehicles at HDB car parks on a calendar month basis. It’s designed for long-term parking and is ideal for HDB residents or individuals working in HDB precincts. The parking can be renewed electronically, making it a convenient option for those who need consistent access to a parking space near their residence or workplace.
HDB season parking rates
The rates for HDB season parking vary depending on several factors, including the type of vehicle (e.g., cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles), the type of car park (e.g., sheltered or non-sheltered), and whether you are a resident or non-resident. The rates are categorised as:
- Tier 1: Applicable to residents (flat owners, tenants, or registered occupants) for their first vehicle.
- Tier 2: Applies to subsequent vehicles owned by residents or all vehicles owned by non-residents.
For the most up-to-date information on the rates, visit the HDB InfoWEB.
How is HDB season parking allocated?
The allocation of HDB season parking is prioritised based on the demand at individual car parks. Here’s how it works:
- 1st Priority: Reserved for HDB flat owners, tenants, and allowed occupants, ensuring they have the first right to apply for parking spaces. Applications open on the 1st of each month.
- 2nd Priority: Applies to owners of second or subsequent vehicles. Applications for these vehicles begin on the 18th of each month.
- 3rd Priority: For non-residents, tenants of rooms, and those applying for a vehicle they do not own. Applications open from the 21st of each month.
If the car park you are applying for is in high demand, you may not always secure a spot on your first attempt.
How to apply for HDB season parking
You can apply for HDB season parking online through the HDB e-Service portal or the Mobile@HDB app. The process requires you to log in using your SingPass and fill in details related to your vehicle and preferred car park.
Payment can be made through Visa, MasterCard, or direct debit with DBS, UOB, OCBC, and Standard Chartered. Additional documents may be required if you are driving a company car or other commercial vehicles.
Renewing HDB season parking
Renewal is also done online using the same e-Service portal or Mobile@HDB app. To avoid the hassle of missing renewals, you can set up automatic payments via GIRO, which offers a 2% rebate for successful transactions. If you prefer, you can also set up recurring credit card payments, which may come with benefits such as rewards points or cashback depending on your card provider.
Be sure to renew your parking promptly; otherwise, short-term parking charges will apply until your renewal is processed.
Transferring and cancelling of HDB season parking
If you move or change vehicles, you can transfer your season parking using the “Permanent Transfer of Season Parking” e-Service. Note that the cost may vary based on the vehicle or car park type (e.g., from motorcycle to car or vice versa).
To cancel your season parking, you can do so after utilising it for at least one full month. HDB will refund you any unused portion of the parking fees for the remaining month(s). The cancellation process is also handled through the e-Service portal.
