What is the Government Land Sales (GLS) programme?
The Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme is essential to implementing Singapore’s Long-Term and Master Plans. Its purpose is to release state land for development, driving the planned growth and improving the country’s physical environment.
The GLS Programme operates biannually, announcing available land parcels categorised into the Confirmed and Reserve lists.

How does the Government Land Sales (GLS) programme work?
Before the start of each half-year, the government releases State Land for tender through the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) sites.
Interested developers who wish to acquire the State Land for residential development, such as constructing new condominiums, participate in an open tender process where they bid for the land. Generally, the developer submitting the highest bid in the open tender will be awarded the land.
Once the tender period concludes, URA issues a media statement disclosing the awarded GLS sites and the respective developers. Subsequently, another media statement will be released to inform the public about the list of developers who tendered for the site and the quoted prices in their tenders.
