How to acquire a floor plan in Singapore?
A floor plan can be acquired through several methods, depending on the type of property and available resources. Here are some ways to acquire a floor plan:
- When purchasing a property, you typically receive both a hard copy and a soft copy of the floor plan. It is recommended to keep the original copy and other property-related documents in a safe place.
- Lost your original floor plan? No worries. There are a few ways to retrieve it online, though some methods may require a small fee. Here’s how:
- Purchase your HDB floor plan from the HDB website: For HDB properties, you can purchase the floor plan through the HDB website. You will be emailed in PDF format, as physical copies are not provided. If you prefer a physical copy, you must arrange for printing yourself.
A regular HDB floor plan costs around S$5, and payment can be made online through a Mastercard or Visa credit card. The floor plan will be sent to your email immediately upon payment. - Download your floor plan from the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) website: The SLA offers a free service called MyProperty, which allows property owners to access crucial information about their properties. This includes land titles, certified plans, property address, area, tenure, ownership, and encumbrances such as caveats and mortgages.
Users can access the service by logging in with their SingPass or CorpPass accounts, with two-factor authentication (2FA) required for security - Purchase your floor plan from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA): The BCA allows homeowners to buy approved building and structural plans for properties with a Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC).
Registered Proprietors, their authorised representatives, or individuals representing the Management Corporation Strata Title (MCST) can apply for access to view and purchase these approved drawings. A search fee of S$35.00 per address is payable upon application submission. After selecting the plans, a plan purchase fee of S$45.00 per plan reference number (per set) is required.
Once the plans are available, an officer from the BCA will contact the applicant within 5 working days to make arrangements for viewing and purchasing the plans.
