In light of the recent housing slump, property developers in Singapore are pulling out the stops to get a slice of the buyers’ pie. We’re talking cool facilities, parent-friendly apartments and luxe living for the busy. In this 99.co special, we trawl through a slew of snazzy future developments and bring you our top picks.
For activity junkies: High Park Residences

Drop all worries of ever having a boring day, as residents of this new development at Fernvale will be pampered with a whopping 118 facilities over 356,000 square feet. This includes a three-metre high splash water slide, a flying fox, boxing rings, and indoor and outdoor movie theatres. Our favourite? A hammock garden to relax in after a long day at work. CEL Development is also throwing in two years of free lifestyle classes, including yoga, baking, kickboxing and tennis lessons.
For couples looking to live with parents: SkyTerrace @ Dawson

Check out the Queenstown Built-To-Order (BTO) development’s 65 paired units, providing couples with the option of living close to their parents while having some private space. A paired unit consists of a studio apartment that is connected to a four- or five-room flat by stairs and a door. Both have separate entrances. These studio apartments are perfect for ageing parents, with elderly-friendly features like grab bars and pull cords for them to sound the alert when they need help.
For avid cyclists: Westwood Residences

This condominium in Jurong will get its Temporary Occupation Permit in 2018, and pitches itself as a haven for those who love getting around on two wheels. Enthusiasts will love its mini-velodrome, a covered garage that houses up to 500 bicycles, and maintenance area with washing, drying and repair facilities. If you don’t own a bicycle, developers Koh Brothers and Heeton Homes are giving away one to every home buyer, while stocks last.
For the busy executive: E Maisons

The property is French for “home” or “house”, and has facilities sleek enough for luxe living close to the city. Living in Braddell will put residents near Toa Payoh Town Centre, with amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, a cinema and a library. The central business district is just a 15-minute drive away. We like the open concept of the club house and gym, making it perfect for parties or an exercise session with a view. Keep a lookout for this development, as it is expected to be completed next year.
For retirees and community-loving folk: Kampung Admiralty

There’s nothing like the charm of living in a closely-knit enclave just out of the city. Residents of this BTO development in Woodlands will get to do just that – it hopes to be a one-stop hub for communal interactions. Once completed in 2017, it will provide easy access to social and healthcare facilities, dining and retail outlets. The property’s community park will feature kampong fruit trees like Limau Purut, giving visitors a much needed break from city life. The residents will also get to grow herbs, vegetables and ornamental plants in the community farm.
For the frequent traveller: eCO

This private development, which has an expected completion date in year 2020, will provide much needed respite for a frequent traveller. It hopes to help residents live in harmony with nature by having majestic rain trees, gardens, and a variety of leisure spaces around the estate. “Green” features include a space for rain harvesting and a community garden for residents to grow their own vegetables. Plus, once work calls, the airport is close by – the development is a five-minute walk from Tanah Merah MRT station.
