One major aspect that buyers look out for when buying property is accessibility to public transport. Especially for those who don’t drive, living close to the MRT will cut down travelling time.
A major exciting MRT development is the Thomson-East Coast Line, which is opening its second stage on 28 August. The line will open progressively and is estimated to be completed by 2024. It will consist of 32 stations, with eight interchange stations connecting to major MRT lines such as North South Line, Circle Line and East West Line.
Connecting the north, south and east regions of Singapore, the Thomson East-Coast Line is expected to serve one million residents in the long term.
As of writing, three stations are now open under Stage 1 since January 2020: Woodlands North, Woodlands and Woodlands South. Stage 2 will open on 28 August, and Stage 3 will be ready from 2022 onwards.
With that, here’s a list of upcoming condos along the Thomson-East Coast Line that will hit the TOP (Temporary Occupation Period) by the time the stations are ready within the next two years.
Condo near Stage 2 Thomson-East Coast Line MRT stations
Nearest TEL MRT: Springleaf MRT (eight-minute walk)
Situated in Yishun, The Essence is ideal for those who love nature. It’s located near both Upper and Lower Seletar Reservoirs. For more recreational options, ORTO is also nearby.
Schools in the vicinity include Chung Cheng High School (Yishun) and Yishun Town Secondary School.
Nearest TEL MRT: Upper Thomson MRT (nine-minute walk)
JadeScape is probably the only new launch condo that’s located in Bishan. On top of that, it’s just a couple of streets away from MacRitchie Reservoir.
More importantly, it’s close to prime schools such as Ai Tong Primary School, Catholic High School, Raffles Institution and Raffles Girls’ School.
Condos near Stage 3 Thomson-East Coast Line MRT stations
Nearest TEL MRT: Stevens MRT (16-minute walk)
Juniper Hill is one of the few condos located near Stevens MRT. Amenities close by include Botanic Gardens and Newton Food Centre. With Orchard being nine-minute drive away, the condo is suitable for those who frequent the shopping district.
Those with children will also be pleased to know that popular schools such as Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) and St Joseph’s Institution will all be within 10 minutes drive.

For those keen on living close to the city, another option is The Hyde at Balmoral Road.
Similar to Juniper Hill, notable amenities nearby include Botanic Gardens and Newton Food Centre. Schools within 2km include Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) and St Joseph’s Institution.

Keen on moving to a new home near the city this year? Sloane Residences is another condo to consider, with the CBD within 11-minute drive away.
Botanic Gardens is within a five-minute drive for nature lovers, while Orchard within is eight minutes away by car.
Nearest TEL MRT: Napier MRT (17-minute walk)
If you’ve always wanted to live in Nassim Road, this might just be the condo for you. It’s also located close to the Good Class Bungalow (GCB) area, allowing you to get unblocked views.
Les Maisons Nassim will also be within walking distance to Botanic Gardens, perfect for those who love nature.

Located within a six-minute drive from Orchard, One Draycott is one of the new condos close to the city centre.
Prominent schools in the vicinity include Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) and St Joseph’s Institution.
Nearest TEL MRT: Napier MRT, Orchard Boulevard MRT, Orchard MRT (10- to 15-minute walk)
Situated along Cuscaden Road, Cuscaden Reserve is one of the new condos in Orchard.
The main shopping belt is just a seven-minute drive from the condo. If you prefer to shop somewhere less crowded, there are Tudor Court and Tanglin Mall which are closer.
Some of the schools close by are EtonHouse International Preschools and River Valley Primary School.
Nearest TEL MRT: Orchard Boulevard MRT, Orchard MRT (six- to eight-minute walk)
If you’re interested in getting a condo at Orchard, there’s also Boulevard 88 located.
The main shopping district is within a four-minute drive, with Wheelock Place and Forum The Shopping Centre among the nearest malls.

3 Cuscaden is also one of the new condos that’s closest to the new MRT stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line, with Orchard MRT and Orchard Boulevard MRT just around six minutes away on foot.

If you’re interested in getting a condo right in the heart of Orchard, 8 Hullet might just be the condo for you.
Right smack in the middle of Emerald Hill, the condo is just a stone’s throw away from the main shopping belt. One of the nearest malls, The Centrepoint, is just three minutes away on foot.
Schools in close proximity include River Valley Primary School and School of the Arts.
Nearest TEL MRT: Great World MRT (nine-minute walk)
Located a little further away from Orchard is RV Altitude along River Valley Road, with Great World City just four minutes drive away.
For nature lovers, Fort Canning Park is a few streets away.
Keen on sending your children to a top school? River Valley Primary School will just be within ten minutes walking distance from the condo.
Nearest TEL MRT: Havelock MRT, Great World MRT (nine-minute walk)
Here’s the condo for those who have always wanted a riverfront home. Riviere is located at the heart of Robertson Quay, along the Singapore River.
With the CBD just around a seven-minute drive, it makes an ideal home for those working in the CBD. Plus, River Valley Primary School is within walking distance.
Nearest TEL MRT: Great World MRT (10-minute walk)
The Iveria is another new launch condo that’s located in the prime district of River Valley. Orchard Road and Robertson Quay are easily accessible from the condo.
It’s also one of the condos that’s nearest to River Valley Primary School, located just around a six-minute walk away. So if you really want to secure a place for your child there, you might want to consider this condo.
Nearest TEL MRT: Outram Park MRT (eight-minute walk)
Located in Tanjong Pagar, Sky Everton is just a couple of streets away from the eateries there. Perfect for those who love Korean food.
Other amenities in the area include Singapore General Hospital.

One Pearl Bank sits on the former site of the iconic Pearl Bank Apartments, with Pearl’s Hill City Park just three minutes away by foot.
When completed, it will be the tallest residential development in the Outram Park and Chinatown district.
